Why does the image turn black and white? (video)

When I take a picture, and i cut the background (magic eraser tool) and I want to move it to a new file I opened so it automatically turns black and white.
How do I change it?

When you are creating a new file your color mode is set to grayscale. you will ned to change that to a color option like rgb or cmyk (for print).
