Windows Computers Will Not Sleep When Either Photoshop or Illustrator is Running

If either Photoshop or Illustrator is running, my Windows 10 & 11 laptops will not go into sleep mode if the lid is closed. If both applications are closed, the computers always sleep when the lid is closed. This is happening on machines across OS and manufacturers; HP and Lenovo.

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

It is not true for Desktop Windows 11 goes to sleep with Photoshop app 'running' in the background. I am refering to preferences go to sleep after 5 (or X) minutes inactivity. Same thing is true when selecting Sleep option from "Start" menu.
