Workspace pixellation after Zooming in/out

Hi,

Is anyone else experienmceing pixellation on the Workspace in Photoshop after zooming in and out? I have attached a screen shot that helps demonstrate what I mean. If I open a file and zoom out, a very pixellated shadow of the image remains on the workspace. If I close down the image and re-open, it still remains visible. The only way to get rid of this is to quit Photoshop.

I'm running:

Photoshop 2021 -  22.5.0

iMac - Catalina OS 10.15.7

Thanks for your reply Lambiloon. I've a very new machine with loads of RAM and AMD Radeon Pro 5700 8 GB graphics card. The files I'm opening aren't big files - just assets for websites. Not sure if this has any bearing on your reply.
