I've tried all of the suggested "fixes" of using "Save for Web (Legacy) which results in a "write permissions" error. Nothing worked. The easiest way to fix the problem is to Quit DropBox while using "Save for Web". After your work is completed, turn DropBox back on and everything will sync again.
Officially Adobe does not support directly working to/from remote/networked services. The solution has always been to save local and drag over to your preferred backup/sharing service.
