Generative Fill does not work with Creative Cloud All Apps for HED - Shared Device licenses. Please add support for this new feature or make it clear that we are getting stripped down versions with our licenses.
this is not so much about the EDU, as it is about the shared device licenses. They do not include online functions. And if anything ever has been an online functions it is anything AI for its need for high computing power.
--> But you can enable some access, via free licenses (called "shared device access license"). With these you should be able to give access to some functions too.

Here is part of the response from Adobe:
" I would like to inform you that the SDL licenses are not having the online or the cloud features so it will not allow the users to use the generative fill. I would suggest you to please fill the feature request form, so such changes can be bought in the future."

The teachers at my university would also like to show to students how generative AI works on our Share Device Licences but Generative AI Adobe Firefly is not included in SDL , it's only included in nominative licences.

@CHRISTOPHE237485118bvo@Chris32146220n7q2 I'm guessing its because you need to login as an individual to agree to the terms of the AI features. As an SDL users do not have individual IDs to regulate age restrictions and accept user terms and agreements.

@anythinklibs unknown. My best guess is it would mean changing your deployment and verification method away from SDL to another SSO that would allow students to log in individually and verify age, etc.
For most educational institutions, this is a monumental ask of IT resources and lab management, etc.

Hi there,
this is not so much about the EDU, as it is about the shared device licenses. They do not include online functions. And if anything ever has been an online functions it is anything AI for its need for high computing power.
--> But you can enable some access, via free licenses (called "shared device access license"). With these you should be able to give access to some functions too.
For higher Ed, you should be able to deploy those on the admin console. I marked the part of the article relevant to you.
For trying out individually, I would recommend to get a private, free Account. This will let you test a little on the Express and Firefly Web Apps. Anyone can do that.
And it is fully included with HED CC, as long as they are Named User Licenses.
There will be SOME more online functionality (for example basic fonts) available for SDLs over time, but I do not know exact infos about what and when.
For higher ed there are special offers for Express & Firefly Licenses that include more credits and access to more functions.
For full access you need Named User licenses. The special priced HED ones are not restricted here with GenAI. (actually quite the opposite because you get access to the substance family that has a lot of interesting AI functionality and integrations with PS etc)
