I haven't found an automatic retouch feature yet that could adequately correct all images in all situations. Often they do more harm than good, in my experience.

Have you tried Retouch4me plugins? Adobe could create smth better, I believe.

If AI already can generate skin, why can't it clean up?

I'm not a fan.  Too much smoothing removes character.  Skin smoothing has to be done with a light hand to keep it from looking retouched.
