Have the ability to place push pin anchors along an item that you would like to be straight and then perform an action that will align all of those anchors into a straight line between the two furthest extremes of anchors. This will allow you to take something that is distorted or wavy and straighten it out visibly.

That is a very cool tool, but not quite what I am after. If you might use liquify to push pixels so that they warp out, this idea is like that in reverse. For example, lets say you were looking at a road that had a curve in it, but you wanted it to be straight. Making a straight into a curve is easy with liquify or puppet warp, but taking a curved line and making straight is much more difficult.
