When working with multiple layers, it would be great if Photoshop could use AI to automatically recognize the content of each layer and rename them accordingly (for example: ‘Tree’, ‘Sky’, ‘Logo’, ‘Person’, ‘Text’, etc.).
Why I need this feature:
When working with complex compositions, especially those involving dozens or hundreds of layers (like composites, mockups, or UI designs), it can be extremely time-consuming to manually rename each layer for organization. Many users rely on descriptive layer names to stay efficient, but auto-generated names like ‘Layer 1 Copy 3’ make projects difficult to navigate.
Having AI intelligently recognize what is on a layer, whether it is an object, a shape, a piece of text, or an imported image, and rename it accordingly would drastically improve workflow clarity, speed, and collaboration. This feature would also help teams stay consistent when sharing PSD files, reducing confusion and setup time when opening files created by others.
