PLEASE give us a feature in the Settings that allows us to choose to turn off the Pixel Grid by default.  It's so inefficent to have to manually turn it off on every single file, even when using keyboard shortcuts.

The Pixel Grid used to be hidden by default.  I don't know why Adobe found it nessary to change to be shown by default.

Adobe PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let users choose for themselves and add a checkbox to the Setting dialong window.

In the Preferences for Transparency & Gamut, there is a Grid Size option. You can set this to None. Is this what you need?

I am refering to the Pixel Grid that only appears when zoomed in very close.  There is not a way to turn the Pixel Grid off in the settings so it stays off by default.

Please re-read my post.  I am aware they can be hidden, but I would like an option to have them set as hidden by default.  It's ineffectient to have to manually hide the Pixel Grid on every single document I open.  I've been using Photoshop since the 90s, I know there is a menu setting. Furthermore, the Pixel Grid used to be set as hidden by default and at some point Adobe changed that.

Photoshop remembers settings from the previous session. Try resetting preferences.

Yes, if you turn it off in the View menu it stays off. If not, it's corrupt preferences.
