Merge Lasso and Polygonal Lasso into one tool?

It would be nice to have a tool that can both select  by dragging and tapping at the same time that closes the selection when hit enter or select somewhere close to start point.

It would make little selections much faster and easier.

Both of these tools allow you to toggle the function to the other by holding down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac). Practice a little first to get the hang of when to hold Alt down and when to let it go.

As to closing:

Polygonal Lasso tool: Click once on the beginning point (the mouse cursor will have a circle) or double-click anywhere

Lasso tool: release the mouse

There's a little bit of timing to master on when to hold down and when to release Alt and the mouse button.

• Moving from Lasso to Polygonal Lasso
  If you release the mouse, the selection closes. Keep holding the mouse button down as you press the Alt key to switch tools. 
• Moving from Polygonal Lasso Tool to Lasso
  Hold down Alt and start to drag the mouse, then release Alt

Practice a few times until it clicks.
