P: Access to Polygon Tool in Select and Mask in 2015.5

The Lasso Tool is present within the new mask and select of 2015.5. The Polygon Tool is not provided however. Having both tools would be incredibly helpful.

Hold down left mouse button, hold down ALT>you you have a polygonal lasso in Select and Mask. Although a separate tool would be easier to handle.

I was completely baffled at first, but I've found where they've hidden it!

At the bottom of the toolbar, there's now a "..." menu beneath the zoom tool. This appears to have everything listed that Adobe have deemed less useful than the other toolbar tools (patch/healing brush/paint fill, polygon etc).

At the very top of this list there's the option to "Edit Toolbar". Click that, and edit the toolbar as you see fit. The option for a magnetic or polygon lasso is contained within. Enjoy!

Edit: This only seems to be a problem in the workspace I had selected, which was Graphics & Web. The default "Essentials" workspace has it in its expected location, nested in the polygon tool.

Thank you both for responses. Alt doesn't bring up the polygon tool for me. I also don't have an ellipsis on the tools toolbar while in mask and select. I've tried a few different work spaces and dont find that I have those options.

I should clarify I'm talking about the polygon lasso tool.

Brett,

The behavior is subtle. Try these steps:

1. Click and hold down the mouse
2. While the mouse button is still down, hold down the alt key
3. With the alt key still down, release the mouse button

You should now be in the polygon tool.

I'll pass on your suggestion to the Select and Mask eng team.

Thanks Jeffrey. Its nice to be able to use the tool. The means of achieving it is rather obnoxious, thank you for passing on the suggestion.
