P: Add option to change/set resolution in Image Processor

When I want to resize all my JPG files, I also want to change their resolution (dpi) in Image Processor.
For example I Saved my RAW files to JPG in 300dpi, but later I want to change the JPG files reso to 72dpi. I must do it separately or with an Action or Save again from RAW files.

It would be very helpful, if you have more than one file to change.

It is because of image processor uses S4W to save JPEG and S4W get resolution from File Info of Photoshop, File Info doesn't update the resolution info causes the bug. This bug is in our bug system and it is under consideration.

Thanks,
Ping

Yep, IPP rocks and will likely come with CS6. FWIW, it's "PPI" and i's likely to be irrelevant with JPEGs used for web and email.

Hi,

Do this:

1. Open 1 of the .tiff image in Photoshop.
2. Set Up and Action. Click "New Action" in Action Panel (Window > Actions), name the action and Click Record.
3. Choose Image > Image Size...
4. Make sure you will make these adjustments : http://screencast.com/t/SJMw27K34A
5. Click Ok
6. Choose File > Automate > Fit image ...
7. Make sure you will make these adjustments: http://screencast.com/t/ujjBSvei
8. Click Ok
9. Stop Recording the Action : http://screencast.com/t/6v1mNqZKt
10. Now use Image Processor, but in step 4 in the dialog apply the action I described above : http://screencast.com/t/5FPW9fD46Tf
Have to click "Run Action" checkbox.

Have in mind with Fit Image your images will not going to be squares each time. The Command will fit the image in this resolutions without squish it or distort it.

Cheers!

Regards,
SK

Edit: Sorry, I had not read Simeon’s post properly, he has made the point already.

But what for do you want the images to have 72ppi?
If they are for the web that is pretty much irrelevant anyway.

I don't understand the cause because I installed Photoshop from scratch, but resetting the PS preferences helped me.
Press and hold Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You'll be prompted to clear the current settings.

With a new file with more frames it unfortunately doesn't work again and deleting the settings again doesn't help either. Please do not mark as solved!

I can't repro the problem with the files. I think the problem is they reference an image sequence/video layer from an iCloud directory.

Thanks for the support. I copied the complete PNG sequence to my Mac, created a new Photoshop file with this sequence from the desktop and still get the error message.

I also saved the other PNG sequences from the iPad to the iCloud and created the animated GiF from these sequences. It works with some files. I have the feeling, as soon as there are more frames there are problems.

I suspect it's memory related. My machine here has 32GB of RAM and I can't repro. Going to try on another machine with 8GB. Do you have any other apps running? If PS is the only app running does the number of PNG you can load/process go up?

Good morning, so I can't see any load on iMac, are there any new findings on the bug yet? I have also tried turning off all other programs and the error persists.
