Photoshop Beta becomes default app with every update

I have both photoshop and photoshop beta installed. I want to have normal photoshop as default app, but every time there is a Beta update, it becomes the new default.

So I have to change default app in Finder every time there is an update. Would be great that if Photoshop Beta is freshly installed it becomes default app, but if it is already installed and just gets an update it does not become the default app.

The last installed version will always take over file associations. That includes updates. That's just how it works in Windows.

As long as you have them both installed, you can easily reassign file associations in Windows Settings.

Problems can happen if you uninstall a version that is currently not holding file associations. Don't do that. When installing/uninstalling, always follow strict version order, and start with the one currently holding file associations. Last in, first out.

Yes really annoying. There msut be some way to disable all Beta apps from becoming the default.

And it's Mac , not Windows.

Bridge needs to have an override setting for that or something because it is HIGHLY ANNOYING. I do not want Beta to take over every file association each time.

@AngelHartline

Set file associations to your preferred version in Windows. There is no need for an "override".

D Fosse, I use Mac OS X. There does not seem a way to pin the association to normal Photoshop there.
