photoshop export don't write the dpi value in the JPG !

New Here ,
Jul 22, 2024 Jul 22, 2024

With the export fonction : the DPI value is not writen in the picture ; always 96ppp.

For the dpi value considered, I have to do "save as".

PLEASE... add DPI in the export methode.

And (it's free) why isn't there any good guy to correct all the mistake about definition and correction in the french texte !!!!!!

pixels are a définition ; not a resolution (in french in any case)

thanks.

Use Save for Web or Save As. Or use an Action to set the resolution.

Export As is designed to remove/strip the resolution and other metadata. 96 or 72 are just defaults used when there is no resolution metadata.

A couple of scripts that can add the resolution metadata back into JPEG files without decompressing/recompressing:

Photoshop version:

There is a bug in later versions where the resolution metadata is retained for PNG when it should be excluded (it's still excluded for JPEG):

Export As is intended to save or export images for the Web. On the Web, the resolution field is irrelevant from the outset.
