Photoshop: Please allow the ability to transform when zoomed in past the visibiity of the transform box

I am always trying to do subtle moves with the transform tool that require me to zoom tightly into my image. In order to transform my object, i have to zoom back out and then grab the handles of the transform box. But i have no idea what i am doing when i am zoomed out. I need a 'temporary' transform box to manipulate while zoomed into my image. The fact that a feature like this is missing drives me nuts.
Sometimes my handles are outside the canvas area of my image and i have to zoom way out on the image, increase the canvas area, transform, then zoom back in....

I'd like some automated help with the transform box.

You can already do this from the option bar. On the left side of the option bar, click one of the 9 white dots to set the anchor point. Then there are a couple of ways to transform the image. You can click and drag on a text field label and drag left or right, or you can click in a text field and press the up and down arrows. (and you can type in dimensions, of course)

Holding alt/opt or shift will change the speed when using the scrubby sliders.

That does work but it seems to me alike a work around vs working directly on the image with the transform handles as we have been accustomed to using them. I'm a GIANT fan of hitting command T and the holding the control key on a handle to 'free transform' as either skewing, distorting, rotating, or scaling all in one. Your method doesn't offer that kind of versatility (no offense).

Yeah.. the option bar method only works for basic scaling.
I'd like to be able to select a handle so I can nudge it with the arrow keys. There could also be a 2 dimensional scrubby slider in the option bar to modify the poiint.

I try to offer partial solutions to problems people post, and sometimes I learn something myself, too 🙂

This has been a bother forever for me - You try to transform an object that is either large or even extends beyond the boundaries of your image. You need to zoom in to see if what you're doing looks right - and promptly lose access to the handles you need to manipulate your image with!
I'm a professional retoucher and both me and many of my colleagues have wondered why nobody ever addressed this...
What I would suggest is a simple on/off option that shows up when the transform tool is in use, allowing us to bring up a visible "projection" of the transform handles that zooms with us. This would allow you to manipulate the handles that are now out of your view while keeping the image zoomed in close enough where you can actually see what you're doing.

i've made the request before that transform needs the option to have bezier curve controls on the image (like the pen tool).
or add these controls to liquify so we can use the all important freeze and save/load mesh capabilities.

Usually I either beg or get pissy, I thought this would be preferable.

Just kidding, sorry for the trouble.

This is over four years old and hasn't been fixed. Made it hard for me to get my text boxes in the right place.
