I now understand the save/save as copy changes were necessary but why does photoshop now want to save my edited images in the previous folder saved in rather than the folder the image was originally in? Very frustrating. (windows btw)

Hi there,

Those changes are reverted now you can choose to use the legacy save workflow by going to Photoshop's Preferences > File Handling.

You need to update Photoshop to version 22.4.2 through the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

Sahil

Hi, thanks for your reply, have done all of the above already, I've also uninstalled both photoshop and Lightroom Classic and reinstalled them and the issue is still there.

To be clear on what is happening, I open an image in Lightroom Classic, perform my edits, then go to edit in Photoshop and finish the image resizing etc, convert to 8 bit as I want to save as a jpeg. Then no matter which save option I try it wants to save it in the last folder used rather than the original folder.

In Lightroom preferences I already have stack with original ticked and in Photoshop file handling I have save to original folder selected. This has not been resolved by the legacy save workflow option and I can see by other posts here I'm not the only person tearing their hair out with this.
