Content Aware Fill Custom Selection Issue

When I use the custom option in CAF, the resulting fill is darker.

If I use auto and add or delete, the color matches.

Any help would be great

Sorry to hear about this. Would you mind telling us which version of Photoshop and the operating system are you working with?

Could you please try resetting the preferences and let us know if it helps?

Your example images are essentially no help to us unless you describe in detail what is going on with them.  CAF is not designed to work with solid colours, so can you give examples of your issue with a photograph?
