New to photoshop.... just want to combine an open photo to a separate layer stack. Can't find it. Sure it is a simple thing but appreciate any help. Cheers!

Can you explain a bit more clearly, do you want to combine two images in Layers, duplicate an image in Layers for example, or what?

Before/after cropped screenshots of the layers panel would likely be useful to illustrate your post.
Do you mean to duplicate from one image to another? Or something else?
