Orbit in 3D is not functioning

I am attempting to build a simple cylinder using 3D.  I have done this in the past but now I can't.  By drawing a circle and extruding it, I can get the cylinder, but when I go to use the "ORBIT the 3D Camera" it splits the cylinder into 2 parts.  One part goes to the top of the image, and the other part stays still.  The "select View window" is always black, no white.  The Mesh objects produce nothing.

I am on a MAC running Big Sur 11.4  Photoshop is 2021 and updated on May 22, 2021.  The processor is a 3.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5.

Do I have a set-up issue or is this a different problem.  I think I have checked the compatibility post with no direct help.

"We recommend using the Tech Preview option for overriding Photoshop’s native canvas mode to continue to use the 3D features.

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews, and check the item Deactivate Native Canvas, then restart Photoshop."
