Hi all. Kind of a weird problem here that I've never experienced before.

I opened up Photoshop to edit a simple PNG image and it opened the image like this:

Screenshot (1).png

Needless to say this is not what I'm expecting! The eyedropper tool still recognizes the colors that the image is supposed to be, but it's just not what's displaying on screen. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble due to the way Photoshop is opening the PNG file. Would you mind confirming if this is happening with multiple images or just the one you have shared the screenshot of? Does this happen with other formats as well?

You can try disabling the option to Use Graphics Processor from Photoshop by going to Preferences, then Performance. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

If it helps, please check out: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html

If the issue persists, you can also try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2Qzc0K3

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG

Let us know if it helps!

Regards,
