Sometimes in the middle of painting in photoshop, my current instrument ( whatever it is at that moment) becomes a windows pointer, and after that photoshop just freeze and any manipulation in the programs appears to be unactive. And it's fixed only if I close the program and then reopens it. By the way, I am using Windows 10. Please help me solve this because it's really slowing my working process.

Things to check, in order:

  • Update your GPU (video) driver if you haven't in awhile.
  • Reset the tools: On the tool's Options bar > right-click that particular tool's icon > Reset Tool or Reset All Tools from the context menu.
  • Reset preferences: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html ("Reset Photoshop Preferences" around the middle of the page.)
  • Uninstall/reinstall Photoshop.
