Photoshop refine edge tool not performing correctly

Anyone else having an issue when masking a subject and using the brush tool all of a sudden? If i hold it for more than 3 seconds the circle brush shape turns into a cursor?

Does anyone know why & can this be fixed

We're sorry about the trouble with Refine Edge in Photoshop. Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop you're using along with your computers operating system? Since when are you facing this issue? Did it start after an update to Photoshop or to your computers operating system?

My mac is under mac OS big Sur version 11.1 - and im using photoshop 2021 - 22.4.2 release
