After 16 crashes in a day, I let Photoshop do it's update for "stability" but now my save as PDF option is gone. I have tried changing colour modes, 8bit, 16bit, 32bit etc, but none of those bring the option back. HELP!

Are you sure this isn't part of the enormous issue with the latest release, that refuses to allow users to "save as" pretty much anything at all? You have to 'Save As Copy' to get to those options now. If you look through these forums there are hundreds of people upset about the change, but Adobe did it on purpose to ensure the PC version works identically (as much as possible) to the Mac version. You can find long, drawn out arguments and discussions about the change.

Here's the enormous thread on the change to the "save as" functionality, which removed most options, so you can see if this is what you are encountering.
