Spot Healing not working

I have update to PS 22.4.2. When I use my Flare applictor, then the spot healing on it, it doent work. It will remove it where I want it but then it appears again. Like I never even did any spot healing at all. Help!

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?

First picture is adding the flare, second is removing with the spot healing and last picture is it all coming back. So frustrating!!!

I do not understand your workflow. 

What are you trying to achieve? Why use the Spot Healing Brush on the flare? 

 

Anyway: You seem to be working on the layer Mask, not the Layer.
