Hi, I just transitioned from a PC to MAC, first of all none of my LR presets and collections transferred so thats the first issue but not the worst because I still have my old PC so I can access any old files not a big issue, and I can add the presets to the new MAC....the biggest issue I have currently is with Photoshop on my MAC, when I save a picture it only gives me the option so save as PHOTOSHOP, LARDE DOCUMENT FOPRMAT, PHOTOSHOP PDF AND TIFF. (Does not give Jpeg option) ....when I click the save as button it does give me Jpeg option but after saved when I email the image it arrives as a MIME Attachment and I cant open it on my mobile, please help.

For myself and others to help you, first supply the Photoshop and MacOS version you are using. This can normally be found under Photoshop's Help > System Info. We don't need the entire list yet, just those two items.

Hi @Liliana5E95

This is not a Windows to Mac issue; it's a 22.4.1 and 22.4.2 issue on both platforms.

As of 22.4.1, you can find png, jpg, pdf, etc., in Save a Copy (not Save As)

As of 22.4.2 you can revert to the previous behavior in Preferences > File Handling > File Saving Options:

  • Enable Legacy Save As
  • Do not append Copy

See this help page for details and cautions:

Hi

Jane thank you for your help, I activated the enable "legacy save as" and
now I do see the option to save as a Jpeg, but when I email this file and
try to open on my cellphone it comes as a MIME attachment and I cant open
it, also after importing from Photoshop I am unable to open file on
Lightroom 😞 so frustrating.

I really appreciate your help

As an alternative to emailing files, use Cloud Storage. iOS and MacOS use iCloud, but my favorite  is Dropbox. It integrates with MacOS and iOS and you can save or drag/drop your files there. No worries about email system oddities and limitations.

I used to use Drop Box, but now I put files on Creative Cloud and send a link. It's super easy.
