I tried to do a simple object selection in Photoshop and was told that the operation could not be completed because I do not have enough RAM.
My computer has 16 GB RAM. According to Task Manager, only about 48% of my RAM was being used.
I set the preferences to allow PS to use all available RAM. I also tried the fix to add the OverridePhysicalMemoryMB entry into the registry.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thank you in advance!

First of all, don't give Photoshop 100% of the RAM. There is a suggested range shown; stay within that.
Second, how much scratch disk space do you have available?

Hi, Lumigraphics! Thank you for responding!
I have two scratch disks set up -- my hard drive (SSD) with 37 GB available, and then my external hard drive with about 5 TB.

You need more scratch disk space, and your internal hard drive is getting full regardless. Time to buy another external drive maybe.

Thanks, Lumigraphics.
Will it help if I make my external drive (with 5TB free) as the main scratch disk instead of the internal?

Yes 5Tb is plenty of scratch space.
