Hi, I bought Photoshop elements 2024 and installed Adobe camera raw 16 but it doesn't open the Sony a1 files.
The Sony a1 ARW are supported since 13.1 Adobe camera raw version. Why I can't open the files with 16 version?
Download and install the latest Camera Raw version from https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
Quit all Adobe applications.
On macOS, double-click the .dmg file to mount it.
On Windows double-click the downloaded .zip file to unzip it.
(Windows might unzip the file for you.)
On macOS, double-click the .pkg file to start the installer.
On Windows, double-click the resulting .exe file to start the installer.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Once installed successfully

Hi, thanks for reaching out! Would you mind confirming if you're using the Sony Alpha 1 or the A1 Mark 2? If it's the Alpha 1, it's supported by Camera Raw version 13.2, while the A1 Mark 2 needs Camera Raw version 17.1. Please check: https://adobe.ly/3F8ITtE
If you're using the Alpha 1, could you let us know what happens when you're trying to open the images?
Thanks,
Nikunj

Navigate to the following folder:

On Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats
Copy the Camera Raw plug-in (just the .8bi file) from the CC > File Formats folder that is mentioned in the above step.
Navigate to the following folder:
On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/Elements<Version Number>/File Formats
On Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements<Version Number>\File Formats
Replace the existing Camera Raw plugin in Elements<Version Number> folder with the plug-in that you copied earlier.

Thanks, you finally solved my problem.
Why doesn't Adobe release the update?
Thanks.

Updates to Adobe Camera Raw are released quite frequently. Updating the editor every time a new version of ACR comes out wouldn't tmake any sense- you really only need to owrry about it if your camera needs it.

I agree with you but here the problem is different: photoshop elements 2024 does not find updates and the latest version installed is acr 16. in theory the Sony a1 files should be supported but this is not the case.
