Adobe Elements 2018 - Windows App Store vs Standalone Download

I've purchased a new PC that I plan to use as my main photo editor but have an older PC (Win 7) with Photoshop Elements 11.  Trying to decide which version to purchase (Windows App Store or via Adobe.com).  I know some of the first Windows App Store versions (15) had lots of issues and reviews aren't great on the windows store version, but it's still downloaded a lot from there so I think the issues are not as bad as they seem.  Is there major pros/cons on which version to purchase?  The differences I see is the Windows App store I might need to work via Microsoft if I run into issues, but includes up to 10 PC downloads versus 2 on Standalone. But I also think that I'll only get the upgrade discount via standalone.  Thoughts?

The Windows store version is a container package installation with support through Microsoft. You would be entitled to upgrade pricing from Adobe if you own any previous regular version with serial number. However the Full version is very often discounted in Black Friday sales and other promotions making it actually cheaper than the upgrade. Outside of promotion periods the Windows store version tends to be marginally cheaper. So it’s a personal choice. In fact you can install the regular version on two, three, four or any number of computers as long as only two are activated - simple sign-in/sign-out.  It’s probably not as flexible as the Windows store version, but adequate for most customers.
