Adobe ID refusing to work

I am trying to download Photoshop Elements 2020 (since that's the one I've got a license for, it came with Premiere Elements 2020 which I've been using since I bought it), and the installer requires me to log into my account in order to continue with the download. However, when I try to do this, by clicking "Continue with Google", the Adobe ID screen that then pops up on my browser buffers indefinitely, so I can never actually log in. Is it the fact that I'm trying to download an outdated version, or is there something else going on that I can fix?

Ah, thank you. I couldn't see a Photoshop Elements forum when I was introduced to this community.

Did you register your Elements 2020 program with a Google ID? I wasn't aware that could be done. You must sign in with the email address (and password) that is used for your Adobe account. If you have Premiere Elements 2020 installed on your computer, you can go to the Help menu and find out which email address was used. (It will be listed next to the Sign Out command.)

I've checked in Premiere Elements, and it is the same email address. When I log into my account via the website, I log in via Google, click on "Manage Account", and both Premiere and Photoshop Elements are there. So I am confident I'm on the right account. My only doubt now is that I know Premiere Elements 2025 comes with a 3 year guarantee, and I'm wracking my brains to remember if that same clause existed 4.5 years ago, which could explain why the installer isn't letting me log in to download...

Elements 2020 comes with a perpetual license. Elements 2025 is the first version to have a limited term license (although I have heard of a single case where a purchase from BestBuy came with a 10 year license).
You are one of an increasing number of users who are having trouble signing in to a legacy product. I have asked Adobe for a better explanation than is provided in the online help articles but I don't expect to have a response until after the holidays. For now, I am going to suggest that you try offline activation. See this HelpX article for instructions. Although it refers to Elements 2019, it supposedly works for other versions.
Please report back if this works for you.

Have you tried signing in using the Email address and Password without using Continue with Google?

Yes, I have tried, I type in my email, and it says "An account already exists with this email", and gives me no option to enter a password, only the "Sign In with Google" option.
