Sep 09, 2017 Sep 09, 2017

I last used my photoshop element on thursday. i am trying to use it now but the drop down will not appear when i select file or edit. it appears, but with no wording just arrows or folder icon. i have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling with original disk and making sure the dpi (screen resolution) is 100 like recommended and it still wont work. if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance

I'm having the EXACT same issue. reinstalling didn't work for me either. Is 9 now somehow corrupted or not supported by new system updates??????

There is a similar symptom in Elements 15, where the workaround is either to:

- uncheck the Windows option to automatically hide the task bar

- or to open the organizer in NON maximized mode (in a window)

Since your problem appeared recently and you are on PSE9, it might be due to a bug created by a recent Microsoft Windows 10 creator update. This bug makes the font cache unavailable. Did you get a Windows Creator update recently?
