Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022 vs Adobe Photoshop Elements 6

I had Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 on my old laptop and the new one do not have a CD drive to reinstall. I have alot of Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 files. Can I open my Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 files with an Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022?

You can copy the CD to a thumb drive on another computer, then install via USB. However, you will be well served to obtain PSEv.22 on the modern operating system on your new machine.

Just to be clear:  Your Elements 6 "files" do not contain copies of your photo files.  The Elements Organizer is merely a database that contains information about where your files are stored on your computer and any tagging information you may have applied to the files.  (If you are not using the Organizer, the Elements 2022 Editor will open any files that you were able to open in Elements 6.)

The best way to move from an old to a new computer is to backup the catalog on your old computer and then restore the catalog on your new computer.  You can install Elements 2022 on your new computer and will be able to (restore and) convert your Elements 6 catalog in Elements 2022 without installing Elements 6 on the new computer.  However, because Elements 6 is so old, there are some additional steps that you may have to undertake to update the catalog database.  If you are willing to undertake this approach, I will give you some additional information.
