hello, I purchased and am having now Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 (2009) with original CD and activation code.

I am trying to reinstall it in my iMAC (Big Sur 10.6.1) but not able to install ( setup.app) showing 'no entry'  sign.

Then I tried to download directly fro Adobe site ...but it downloaded photoshop elements 22 version.

When I was asked to activate it, I put the activation code of my photoshop elements 8 .... Message is coming 'this activation code already in use' .... I have only one Adobe account ...

Don't know what to do next ...

Due to current financial constraints, I am not able to purchased cloud based Photoshop.

Can you please help me to sort out how can I use it in my iMAC.

Regards

It's not possible to install Elements 8 on Big Sur. That's an Apple thing, nothing to do with Adobe.

Elements 8 is 32 bit. Big Sur does not support 32 bit software so you cannot install or run Elements 8 on Big Sur. You'll have to either subscribe to a Cloud plan or purchase Elements 2022.

The only other thing you can do is to toss your dvd in the trash.

When you do a Mac OS upgrade you often need to buy all new apps. It's the Apple way. although Mac OS upgrades are free, upgrading can cost a lot of money; be sure to budget for it. At least you had 12 years of use, that's an amazingly long run for Mac.
