Adobe Save for Web Error

New Here ,
Jan 17, 2017 Jan 17, 2017

When I use 'save for web', I am getting the following message: 'Adobe Save for Web Error - Could not write the file. An unknown error has occurred.' Despite the error message, the image has been saved, but also a tmp file with it. This used to happen occasionally, but now happens every time. I am using Photoshop Elements 14.1 on a PC. Any pointers would be much appreciated!

Hi Anwesha,

Thanks for your reply.

I have a file called 'Adobe Save for Web 13.0 Prefs' on my system but not 'Adobe Save For Web 12.0 Prefs'.

Should I delete the '13.0' file?

Many thanks

James

Instead of deleting, you can just rename it to 'Adobe Save for Web 13.0 Prefs_old'

Let us know if it resolves your issue.

Thanks,

Anwesha

Hi Anwesha,

I'm afraid that it didn't.  I'm still getting the same error message.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Many thanks

James

I had the same problem.  Deleting the preferences didn't help.  The way I got it to work was to export the animated gif at a smaller resolution.
