after update to Elements 2020 -- program crashes

using Elements 2020 - just had an update a couple of weeks ago and now the program locks up about once a day---- anyone else having this issue ----- it usually does it when I am adding an effect to a clip.... thanks   h. gibbs

You have posted in the Photoshop Elements forum but it sounds like you want the Premiere Elements forum.  Either post over there, or else confirm which program is involved and I will move your post if necessary.
