auto crop a photo of a typed word or hand written document

Is it possible to auto crop photos (ie .jpeg or .png) of a page of a typed, handwritten word document using Photoshop Elements? If so what is this process called in PSE and how to perform this kind of task. I suspect that this is tough to do sutomatically, if at all. Tnx

Please provide more details.

It would help if you post a representative sample of such a WORD document and point to the area that is to be modified/cropped.

Attached is an example. Other items like cash register receipts and medical test results postcards. Can't use the magic wand to set to a tolerance down to a 5 value. Would like to find a way to automatically do this, as I have alot of .pngs too crop. Additionally they are not all the same size or resolution.

The program is not really designed to accomplish this either manually or by an automated process. The Magic Wand tool works best to select an irregularly shaped, but similarly colored, area of an imge. What you are trying to do is select very fine text, and the tool fails to fetch it - - - no magic!
