Bitmap conversion of pdf file

I had previous experience using the bitmap conversion of a pdf file (PE 10) which resulted in about 5x size reduction.  CUrrent PE 2019 conversion seems not to reduce the file size more than a few percent.  Any idead why?

Have you tried:

File >> Save for Web

There are options for saving as jpeg, gif or png. You can also adjust the size by percentage or dimensions and get a preview of the estimated file size on disk.
