Broken Thumbnails in PSE15 organizer

I am using a MacBook Pro OS 10.12.2. I just installed PSE15. I have been using PSE13. Many of the photos imported into my organizer show broken thumbnails. They can be opened in Elements15. They were created in Elements13. I tried editing those photos in Elements 15 and saving and replacing in the original folders on my desktop. I tried to import those files into the organizer directly from the folders on my desktop. They still show broken thumbnails. I have tried to optimize and repair the catalog through File>Manage Catalogs. Nothing has worked. I have searched the forum for answers for an hour plus to no avail. What is the point of the organizer if it cannot be used effectively? Yes, I am ticked.

Did you try to delete the thumbnail cache as described here:

Step one resulted in seeing this.

I quit the Organizer and tried to find the folder. Searching under Users and then my name yielded no Library.

Selecting Library I followed this path. I found no catalog folder. No what?

Hi,

To navigate to the folder location, simply copy the Catalog location field (as you have shown in System Info dialog, go to File explorer, click on Go menu > Go to, and paste this location there and hit enter.

You will land up at the correct location.

Note: The reason you are not seeing the catalog folders is that you are searching for it in /Library while you instead need to search for it in ~/Library.

Thank you, @arshla jindal. That got me to the link, but the fix didn't work. The thumbnail images are still broken. I can open the images in Editor, but I have no way of knowing what they are in the Organizer without clicking on the broken icon and getting info.

I would request you to kindly mention the resolution of any such image for which the thumbnail is broken.

To do so,

1. Select this image.

2. Open the Information panel on the right.

3. Mention the Size field under General tab.
