Yes, camera raw 9.8 is not yet available for Elements 15.
You might try a manual update waiting for an update.
Anyway you can download and use the free Adobe DNGconverter:

Thank you for your reply. I tried to find a manual update with no success.

Yes,
I, too, have this problem.
I downloaded ACR9.8 ok but do not know how to get PSE15 to 'see' it.
I have a new a6500 camera.
I have the update for Lightroom, (v6.8) so I can open my RAW files but I sometimes like to convert and process in PSE.
Any assistance, such as a link to the manual update process, would be very much appreciated, as would some idea from Adobe as to when the update will be released.
Cheers,
Steve.

I have no inside information from Adobe, but usually, an update for the ACR module in Elements is issued within a month or two after CC...
The workaround is the DNGconverter, or if you have Lightroom, you can also use it to 'save' as DNG which PSE15 can open.
You won't find tutorials for manual updates, since that is not supported by Adobe. The idea is to use the manual updates for Photoshop and to replace the 'Camera Raw.8bi' used by Elements by the downloaded one (if you succeed ...) I don't want to try that myself because in the past, such manual updates have compromised 'normal' version updates.

Thanks, Michel,
I have tried a manual work around this morning.
To my surprise, it worked perfectly.
As you say, I couldn't find anything 'official' but Adobe published a tip years ago for a problem they had with, I think, CS4.
That put me on the right track and I was able to find the right path and files.
I take your point about the risk of an 'authorised' update compromising my installation.
Should that occur, I guess I'll need to uninstall and reinstall PSE15 but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks again for your interest and I hope this helps Ephraim too.
Regards,
Steve

Where did you find the file? Was it a zip file? How did you install it?

Download from Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows and install as the instructions tell you.

Thanks.
The download is for the DNG converter 9.8. How do I get a Camera raw 9.8 download?

ACR is included in this I believe. LR, PS, PSE and DNG Converter all share ACR.
there might be a separate download there also. Try Camera Raw installer for Adobe Photoshop CC and CS6.

I am afraid that the downloads for the 9.8 installers or converters all fail with an error today.

Hi, again,
I got all my information from prof. Google.
The ACR9.8 download was 'for those having difficulty updating Photoshop CC'.
I posted before the 'tips' Adobe gave for locating the correct path and file.
I hope that Michel's experience is just temporary, though it may mean an update for PSE15 is imminent.......hopefully!
Regards,
Steve.
