Many are telling me I should be shooting in RAW but I have found no evidence that Photoshop Elements 2023 supports my camera, OM 1 Mark II?? If not, would 2024 support it or is there another program I might be able to get as a plugin to 2023 Elements?

Looks like PSE 2023 should support your OM 1 Mark II raw files if you install Camera Raw by going to Help>Install Camera Raw from within the PSE 2023 Editor.

Well, I got it installed ok but when I try to download a RAW file it is saying "The file is damaged or is in a format that cannot be included in Elements Organizer. " I would note that it says it is an ORF file.

oce you install ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) when you open a raw file , you are actually working on a copy of the raw file, it's called non destructive editing, which means the original raw file remains untouched.

So, like Mr. Arola said, I just need to download the Camera Raw and I can then edit my RAW OM 1 Mark II files?

Yes, your camera only requires ACR 9.2 or greater, follow his instructions and you will be good.

I presume your Raw files are from the OM SYSTEM OM-1 MARK II camera which was first supported in Camera Raw 16.2. If so, your Camera Raw 14.4 won't open them.
Try downloading Camera Raw 16.4 from
Camera Raw plug-in installer (adobe.com)
Then manually install for PSE 2023. Steps have varied over the years. I think these are the latest (but I could be wrong).
Learn how to manually install Camera Raw 15.5 plug-in in Photoshop Elements 2024 (adobe.com)
Those steps are for installing ACR 15.5 in PSE 2024. You're installing ACR 16.4 in PSE 2023 so adjust the file path accordingly.

Thanks! I will give that a shot, if I can.

If in the PSE 2023 Editor you go to Help>About Plug-in and click on Camera Raw , what version does it say?

You may need to reboot your computer, if you have not done so already. I have also seen some odd things happen with Camera Raw files after a recent Windows update. I don't think it is supposed to be required, but if you installed Camera Raw from the Editor's Help menu, try installing also from the Organizer's Help menu.

I have rebooted, I have tried installing from Organizer menu. I get the same error message.
