can not open raw file

my adobe photoshop elements 13 cannot open Nikon D500 raw file. any update needed? ( free one is best)

Hi,

The Nikon D500 requires version 9.5 (or later) of Camera Raw.

Unfortunately, PSE 13 will only support up to version 9.0.

Your options are to either upgrade (at a cost) to a new version of PSE or to use the Adobe DNG converter (free) or use the Nikon software.

The converter will take the NEF files and convert them to DNG format which is a universal raw format. The DNG files can then be used in PSE as a raw file.
