Explorer ,
Feb 10, 2025 Feb 10, 2025

When I try saving my images in the Editor workspace I get this message ;

'"Unable to build preview because of disk error"

Has anyone any ideas as to how I can get over this problem?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mac or Windows?

How much free space do you have on your hard drive?

This is the kind of problem that is difficult to diagnose without knowing a lot more information.  While we are happy to do that here, you may want to contact Adobe Support.  With your permission, they can take control of your computer to see what is going on.

You can start a chat session by going to the Contact Adobe Support page. (https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen) Make sure you are signed into your Adobe account and try typing Agent when the chat window opens. (If you use my link, the chat window should open automatically.)

429.11 GB available 0f 1.03TB

Running on Sonoma 14.6.1

24GB 2400 MHz DDR4 Memory

Radeon Pro 570X 4GB Graphics

3 GHz 6-Core intel Core i5 Processor

Crucial X8 1TB External Hard Drive ( 409GB available)

Scratch Disk Info is 382.27 GB on Mac and 380.63GB on X8

Photoshop and Lightroom both run okay with no problems, it's only Elements 2024, and although it seems to be running again now the problems seemed to start when I cancelled my Adobe Photography Plan!!!

@pipflash It's not clear from your last post whether you still need help.

I know almost nothing about Macs, so I am going to ping @Jeff Arola, a Community Expert who may be able to help you if you are still seeking assistance.

Go to Apple>System Settings>Privacy & Security>Full Disk Access and make sure Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor is on the list.

If it's not you can add it by navigating to

Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024/Support Files/Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor.app

If you cancel your subscription and then uninstall Photoshop and Lightroom, it would probably be best to reinstall Photoshop Elements 2024.
