Cannot open .mov files in PS Elements 11. Error message it is the wrong file type.

I could open them a couple days ago.  Then today I could only hear the audio not see the video.  These are clips from an iphone.  When I searched for an answer I saw that Quicktime 7 was no longer supported.  So I deleted Quicktime 7 and downloaded Quicktime 7.7.9, and now they won't work at all.  Does anyone have a solution?
