Change directory path of photos in the catalog

Is there any way (either inside photoshop elements or with another utility) to change the directory path for (a large number of) photos ... they are all in dated subdirs of a directory that contains a char in its name (and apostrophe) that I've discovered is probably causing photoshop problems ... so I just want to rename this dir and the update the catalog so that it references the new dir name.

I'm using photoshop elements 14 on windows 10

Never conduct any file management operations outside of the Organizer.

 

You can change the name of a folder within the Organizer by selecting the folder in the Folders panel, right-clicking on it, and choosing Rename Folder from the context menu:
