You are asking in the Elements forum. Elements can't manage pdf files which are not image formats but printing/displaying formats which are managed by specific programs especially Acrobat.

For instance, see this other discussion:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-compress-pdf-files/td-p/11700727

You don't say how your pdfs are created. What is specific to Elements is that the pdf format created when you export is a 'Photoshop pdf' format which is a combination of a normal Acrobat pdf format plus a psd format. The result is a huge size.

So, if that explains the big size of your pdfs, instead of exporting in the photoshop pdf format, rather 'print' your images via a virtual printer device like 'Microsoft Print to pdf'. Though not optimal in size, the result is much lighter.

Acrobat is the software to use for complete pdf management.

Just don't try to email big files. You can't magically shrink them. Email is not designed for this. Use a transfer service like WeTransfer or DropBox.

That's awesome @Walter_H and if you sign in you can share the link afterwards too - very cool.

Thanks for the heads up - I spend too much time in Elements and sometimes forget Adobe makes other products & services 🙂
