I have Elements 12.
I need a step by step idiot guide to tell me how to convert a JPeg image from colour to sepia.
Treat me as a total beginner please!
1. Open your picture file
2. Go to Filter menu>Adjustments>Photo Filter, and in the drop-down select "Sepia" Click on filter and adjust the intensity slider. Ok it.
3. Note the other filter options that are available!
In photoshop elements 12 there are several other ways in Expert mode to get Sepia:
1. Window>Effects>Effects>Monotone Color>Tint Sepia
2. Window>Effects>Styles>Photographic Effects>Sepia Tone
3. Window>Actions>Special Effects>Sepia Toning

Further to above, you can also try a gradient with the Gradient tool.
1. Open your picture file. This will be the Background layer as seen in the Layers palette
2. Opne a blank layer above this - Layer 1
3. With Layer 1 active, access the Gradient tool. In my PSE2024 version of the software, there is an orange-yellow-orange gradient. I selected this as a linear gradient. Hold down the shift key and "draw" the gradient from south to north in the work area.
4. Adjust the opacity of Layer 1 in the layers palette to suit.

Another way in the expert mode is to go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation, then in the Hue/Saturation dialog click Colorize and set the Hue to 35 and Saturation to 25
