Correct lighting gradually across the frame

Hi folks,

Is there a tool  or technique that I can use to correct the lighting on a photo which is light on one side but gets progressively darker across the entire frame.

You can probably use the gradient tool on an adjustment layer.  Please post the photo if you need more specific instructions.
