I just updated from Elements 12 to 2021. There have been significant changes to Elements in the past 9 years. Is it possible to make a slideshow without using the templates in the Organizer?
No - unless you have Premiere Elements which can create fully customizable slideshows.
. . . . And you can continue to use the slideshow feature in Elements 12. In other words, it is no problem to have both versions on your machine. Many people do, for the slideshow feature of earlier versions.
