Hi all can u help??

I use photoshop elements 15 & premiere elements 15 which has so far failed to open or convert any 'ctg' files created when I shot some film/videos with my Canon camera.  I have updated 'plug-ins' but still did not work.

Has anyone any solutions to above dilema?

Take care & have fun

CTG files are Canon catalog files which contain information about your images but do not contain any image data themselves. They are not meant to be opened by end users.

Canon Raw image files have a CR2 (or sometimes CR3) suffix.

Which Canon camera have you got?

You've probably been finding your .ctg files inside a folder named CANONMSC. Ignore that folder.

Look for CR2 files in the other folders in the DCIM folder.

Many thanks you John

I have been using a Canon camera for 11 years and have never seen a 'ctg' or 'cr2' file before.  There 27 individual 'ctg' files in 'canonmsc' but only 5 'mp4' files in other folders.  Can you tell me please why the discrepancy or do the remaining 22 related to standard photographs?

Can I delete all 'ctg' and 'cr2' files now having converted all 'cr2' files to 'jpeg'?
