Dead end upgrade ad.

"Dear Adobe: thanks for killing both my Elements 11 and My CS2 with your stupid upgrade ads embedded in the start procedure. Nothing works and i am totally pissed off. I can't even edit my photos. What moron wrote this software?"

That was my initial comment both on Facebook and Adobe's "Messenger" link when the problem came to light.

I got a messenger reply to post the problem in Forums, so here it is.

Neither Elements 11 or CS2 would launch  as " open with_________" when viewing a photo or from the desktop short cuts. All that would happen was the adware launch and then it was impossible to get Elements 11 to launch from the tab in the adware.  CS2 would not launch at all, and there was not even an adware screen that came up.

After two hours of frustration, I fully uninstalled Elements 11 and re installed it as a fresh install.

It removed the malignant Adobe adware and both Elements 11 and CS2 launch both from the "open with______" dialogue and from desktop short cuts.

Planting this sort of poorly executed adware is not acceptable.

It wasted my time to figure out how to solve the problem that your company created and placed on my computer.  I'm 63, how do i get 2 hours of my life back that your adware required so I could edit some pictures to post on my NatGeo page?

I want compensation for this.

This should have never happened.

This is a user-to-user forum, so we can't help you get compensation. Most folks here are just users like you.

Now, some of the people here have lots of experience with the software and could help you work around or fix issues such as the ones you describe having, but we can't do anything about your complaints to Adobe about your wasted two hours.

So why would Adobe ask me to post my problem to this forum?

If you start a thread describing your issue and give your computer specs and operating system, it is very likely that a knowledgeable user who volunteers their time on the forums will be able to help you resolve it.

I understand your frustration with Adobe help.  Even though certain problems can only be fixed by Adobe chat, you may find that some of the volunteers here are more expert in solving problems than the folks answering the chat line.
