Divide Scanned Photos

New Here ,
Nov 13, 2016 Nov 13, 2016

I have the trial version of Photoshop Elements 15 and an HP 6600 Scanjet. When I use the divide scan photo command while in the Expert mode,PE15 makes a single copy of the scanned image without cropping the photos.  I've tried reducing the number of photos from 5 to 3 and making sure there's plenty of space in-between- still will not divide.  It's jpeg scan at 300 dpi.  I've tried it at 200dpi as well.

I had the same problem years ago with PSE 5. Found out I could cover the photos with a sheet of black construction paper before closing the lid on the scanner and  then scanning multiple photos.  The resulting black border surrounding the separate images made it easier for the software to recognize the different photos.
